Rename the tool-presentation transport from code-mode to ptc everywhere
that is not written into session logs: the mode config value becomes 'ptc',
the preset directory/id becomes ptc, the demo becomes demo:ptc, the
dispatch waterfall becomes tools/ptc-dispatch-log (types PtcDispatch*), the
prompt rule becomes tools:ptc-only, source/test files become ptc.ts etc.,
and prose says PTC mode / PTC 模式. The session-persistent vocabulary
(durable events tool/code-dispatch*, logged plugin name tools-code-mode,
sub-call id segment :code:) intentionally stays and moves in the stacked
persistence PR, which is blocked until the SESSION_FORMAT_VERSION v0→v1
migration lands with it. run_code, its code parameter, CodeSdkLanguage,
CodeRunFailedError, the dsh-code-runtime family, third-party codex names,
and frozen archived notes keep their names.

Collapsing every relative-time bucket to `{{age}}` reached the session-tree
goldens, where a literal age is the assertion: a fresh row reads `now` and an
older one does not. Six e2e files failed, two of them by aborting mid-scenario
and leaving their replay fixtures half-consumed.
`captureStableAria` now takes the rule as an opt-in, and only the reference
menu — whose rows are dated from the live Host list — asks for it.

Session candidates labelled from projection checkpoints instead of a full
log fold per keystroke, with the uncheckpointed remainder folded once and
memoized while its log stays cold. The file index keeps answering while an
invalidated traversal rebuilds behind the caret, and its default exclusions
now cover build outputs so deep sources stay reachable.
Rows carry only what distinguishes them: a file names its parent directory,
a session names its workspace only when that workspace is not the current
one, and a drilled listing names none because its new breadcrumb does.

Resolve packaged profile proxies with Node ESM import conditions from each package installation, and fail loud when an explicit runtime export or legacy main entry is missing. Serialize the shared profile fallback under the existing cross-process writer lock so concurrent dsh processes cannot observe partial proxies; either carrier now replaces the other carrier’s managed entry without manual cleanup.
Give Python initialize its own 10-second default bound and name the selected profile in timeout diagnostics, while leaving ordinary agent turns unbounded by default. Package the dynamically resolved web frontend and skill-badge assets so the runtime wheel’s normal dsh profiles do not depend on pkg static-discovery accidents.
Rewrite the root launch rule and every active stale SDK-runtime note to the shipped dsh profile architecture in both languages. Focused tests prove import-only and transitive package exports, lock contention, cross-carrier transitions, missing-entry failures, asset inventory, and bounded initialization.
Review asked why the launcher special-cases one plugin's row. It no
longer does: the four shipped compositions move into the package
(presets/, in files), dsh-agent-presets resolves its own shipped root
and prepends it before configured roots (includeShippedRoot, default
true, opt-out for bare-machinery embedders), and the per-composition
derived patch, its spec, and the dump layer are deleted — profile-boot
and dump-config return to plain layer stacking. The always-load
guarantee now rides the schema default instead of patch ordering, so a
whole-config replacement keeps the shipped set and the squash, reload
freeze, and dump divergence stop being possible.
Gate globs, the web scaffold, and both preset browser lanes drop their
hand-fed shipped roots; the roster e2e keeps asserting configured roots
beside the shipped four against the built lib.
Fixes#2863.
Review follow-ups: enumerate the derived shipped agent-preset root in
apps/cli README/reference dumps and the profile-boot module JSDoc
(bilingual pairs re-recorded), correct the stale AppCLIEntry/distIndex
analogy in the web scaffold and the shipped-root cross-reference in the
web preset e2e, drop the write-only ComposedProfile.rows field, and make
the Agent Note describe the dump path as sharing the derivation rather
than the builder.
The turn-error Definition suppressed its node permanently once the owning
turn carried any llm/retry event — a rule from the retired model where a
retry opened a new numbered turn. Retries now run inside the failing turn,
so the suppression hid exactly the exhausted terminal failure it existed
to defer to: spending every transient retry left the conversation with a
neutral collapsed retry row and no error row at all.
Delete the suppression: turn-error matches only turn/start and error-reason
turn/end, and renders whenever its turn recorded a terminal error; the
settled retry chain renders beside it through the separate model-retry
node. The Definition suite now asserts the exhausted-retry error node in
full history, tail-only windows, and after prepending the chain, and a new
keyless live e2e scenario exhausts a scenario-owned two-retry policy and
pins the terminal error row beside the settled retry row (the scaffold
gains replayRetryPolicy so exhaustion runs in milliseconds).
Both stale notes are corrected to the same-turn retry reality, and the new
bug-fix note owns the removal rationale.
The shipped bundles keep ctx.sessionQuery mounted but set the new
session-query-sqlite `openAt: never` phase: searchSessions/searchEvents
fail with the typed SESSION_QUERY_SEARCH_DISABLED code before any request
normalization, node:sqlite is never imported or opened, and no source
observation or reconciliation runs. Every inherited exact read, filter,
and trace — session export descendants, subagent-fork Workspace
inheritance, title reads — keeps working, and the Web sidebar search
degrades to its designed local title/workspace matching. Enabling content
search is a one-line openAt override in a later patch layer; the web e2e
scaffold keeps it enabled as the assembled opt-in coverage.
Overlaps master on the preset e2e, the web scaffold, and the generated
config-catalog triplet; all merged textually, so the catalog is regenerated and
its pairing hashes re-recorded rather than trusted.
The browse and native backends were dual-face packages: a Node backend plus a
browser surface under one tsconfig that referenced Client packages. That put
Client projects — and through them the Client runtime — inside the Host
compiler aggregate, which builds before the generated Remote contributions
exist. Each browser half moves to its own Client package, and both backends
become Node-only.
The interaction is still one choice: the adaptive chooser mounts the backend
and its surface as a pair of Loader entries and tears both down in reverse, so
a resolved kind still swaps both faces. Compositions that pin an interaction
directly now pin the pair, and the chooser's runtime-string package list keeps
naming everything a composing app must resolve.
`Config.roots` defaulted to `[]`, so a deployment that did not patch both roots
in got a roster with none — `dsh run` once booted exactly that and failed
resolving `standard`. The user root never needed an app: `<dshHome>/.agent-presets`
is the same place in every deployment, resolvable here the way
`dsh-skill-local` resolves `<dshHome>/skills`.
The roster now derives that root itself unless `includeUserRoot` is false, and
`apps/cli` supplies only the SHIPPED root, whose path an installed app alone
can resolve. The derived root is appended after every configured root, so a
shipped id still shadows a home directory claiming it and `writableRoot()`
still prefers an explicitly configured `user` root; the set is resolved once at
construction, because a root set that changed between a `list()` and the
`copy()` acting on its answer would author into a directory the caller never
saw.
Every test that pins an exact roster now says `includeUserRoot: false` — the
machine's real harness home must not decide what a golden or an assertion
counts.
These e2e boot a real harness and read Host services, so they type-check in the
Host aggregate; importing a Client package there pulls its whole project — and
everything it references — into the Host build phase, where a Client project
waiting on generated artifacts cannot compile. The welcome-notice constants are
mirrored in the scaffold instead, which lets apps/cli drop the Client project
references that only served as their owner map.
The client-hmr row joins the web bundle as an ordinary always-on roster
row: without a rebuild watcher rewriting client bundles it polls
unchanged files and stays idle. This deletes the --dev flag, the web
runtime's mode config, the mode-forked prompt contract, the DSH_WEB_MODE
bash variable, and the post-settlement row-creation machinery the
conditional row required. dsh web + pnpm run dev:web remains the
development loop.
The /feedback acknowledgement now echoes the receiving session id and
reports the mounted telemetry backend's sharing policy: the telemetry seam
exposes a backend-independent TelemetrySharingStatus through a required
abstract sharing member on the Telemetry service, the OTel backend maps its
mode onto it, and the command appends one policy-only sharing sentence
(full / feedback-only / disabled / not configured) to the acknowledgement.
The web client renders the text through the existing command row without a
client change; a new assembled-browser e2e mounts the shipped telemetry row
in FULL mode against a local dead endpoint and pins the shipped default
sentence as a keyless golden.
dsh-web-app owns --host/--port/--dev/--workspace-root/--trusted-host and
its --help in a web-startup row; the rows it configures wait for the
webStartup service, and the client-plugin HMR receiver now ships disabled
so --dev is a row toggle rather than a runtime insert (the Loader cannot
resolve a row inserted from inside a mounting plugin).
dsh-headless owns the task positional and rejects a missing task as its own
usage error. Its runner ships disabled, not merely waiting: the schema
requires the task, and a row's config is validated when its fiber is
created, before the startup row can supply one. A composition has exactly
one command-line owner, so the patch disables the web startup row and this
one provides webStartup too, leaving the web rows on their composed
one-shot values.
The keyless web scaffold provides the same three values with no arguments,
which is what an embedding host with no command line does.
